「レント」という言葉を聞いたことはあるでしょうか？
日本語では「受難節」と呼ばれますが、「レント」の語源である「レンテン」は、もともと「春」という意味です。冬から春にかけて次第に日が長くなり、新しい命の芽吹きを期待する季節のことです。私たちにとっては、罪と死に勝利されたキリストの復活の希望を期待する季節です。
教会では、1700年もの間、毎年、レントが親しまれてきました。それは、灰の水曜日（Ash Wednesday）からイースターまでの40日間、自分自身を深く顧み、悔い改める期間です。
フェイスバイブルチャーチでは、以下のテキストを使って、レントの特別なディボーション（日々の聖書の言葉）を分かち合っています。
疲れている方。元気が出ない方。寂しい思いをされている方。特に神様の必要を感じない方。そのような方は、いらっしゃるでしょうか。

What is Lent? The word “Lent” comes from the Old English word “lengthen,” which simply means “spring” – when the days lengthen and new life springs forth. It is a time in which we anticipate the victory of the life and hope of Christ over the darkness of sin and death. For nearly 1700 years, the Church has been embracing Lent each year. During this 40-day journey from Ash Wednesday to Easter, Christ’s followers have intentionally committed themselves to reflection and repentance, in preparation for Easter.
