マルコの福音書 5章25～34節
25) そこに、十二年の間、長血をわずらっている女の人がいた。26) 彼女は多くの医者からひどい目にあわされて、持っている物をすべて使い果たしたが、何のかいもなく、むしろもっと悪くなっていた。27) 彼女はイエスのことを聞き、群衆とともにやって来て、うしろからイエスの衣に触れた。28) 「あの方の衣にでも触れれば、私は救われる」と思っていたからである。29) すると、すぐに血の源が乾いて、病気が癒やされたことをからだに感じた。
30) イエスも、自分のうちから力が出て行ったことにすぐ気がつき、群衆の中で振り向いて言われた。「だれがわたしの衣にさわったのですか。」31) すると弟子たちはイエスに言った。「ご覧のとおり、群衆があなたに押し迫っています。それでも『だれがわたしにさわったのか』とおっしゃるのですか。」32) しかし、イエスは周囲を見回して、だれがさわったのかを知ろうとされた。33) 彼女は自分の身に起こったことを知り、恐れおののきながら進み出て、イエスの前にひれ伏し、真実をすべて話した。34) イエスは彼女に言われた。「娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心して行きなさい。苦しむことなく、健やかでいなさい。」
ディボーショナル
私たちがデイリーディボーションをしている聖書箇所は、すべてではないですが、書籍：「情緒的に健康な日々の霊性－霊的日課を伴う40日の旅路」のスケジュールに基づいています。その中で、今週のテーマは「情緒的に成熟した霊性」です。
ここで、「霊性」という言葉の意味は、「神様との関係性」です。したがって、霊的に成熟するというのは、神様との個人的な関係を深めること、つまり、神様の愛を深く経験することです。そして、私たちは霊的に成熟することで、本当に自分を愛し、隣人を愛せるようになります。
イエスは、普段の生活の中で、祈りという形で、神様と共に過ごす時間を必ず持っていました。その上で、隣人と共に過ごされたのです。まずは、神との深い交わりがあり、その上で人々を深く愛されました。出会う人、一人ひとりの必要を知り、話を聞き、可哀そうに思って、癒しの業を行ったのです。
イエスは、十二年間、長血をわずらっている女の苦しみを知っていました。身体的な苦しみだけはなく、全財産を失った経済的な苦しみを知っていました。血は汚れていると信じられていた社会で、家族や知人からも忌み嫌われ、避けられてきた精神的な苦しみを知っていました。さらに、汚れたとされる者がイエスに触ろうとする時に、どれほど大きな恐れと葛藤を抱えていたのか、どれほど勇気を振り絞って、信仰を行動に移したのかを知っていたのです。だからこそイエスは、群集がうごめく中でも、どうしても立ち止まって、癒しをもたらしてあげたかったのです。汚れた者に触られることで、自分も汚れた者とみなされてしまうリスクなど、一切、気にされませんでした。
恐れおののいていた女（33節）に、イエスはこう言われます。「娘よ、あなたの信仰があなたを救ったのです。安心していきなさい。苦しむことなく、健やかでいなさい。」イエスは、女の苦しみを憐れみ、癒されただけでなく、救いと平安をもたらされたのです。
私たちも、日々の御言葉を通して、神の愛を経験する時、周りの人を愛せるようになります。周りの人の必要や苦しみに気づくようになります。その人の話に傾聴し、苦しみを共有したくなります。自分の予定や計画を変えてでも、リスクや犠牲を伴っても、どうしても放っておくことができなくなります。そして、真の癒しをもたらす主イエスに近づくことができるように、その人の歩みに合せて、共に歩むことができるようになるのです。
なぜなら、それは、十字架の死と復活というキリストの福音が約束されていることだからです。イエスが、私たちの代わりに血を流され、汚れた者となってくださったからです。そして、イエスが復活されたように、私たちも新しい生き方に変えられるからです。十字架の福音によって、初めて私たちは神を愛し、自分を愛し、隣人を愛せるようになるのです。
問いかけ
神から愛されていることを経験する時、どのように隣人を愛することができますか？あなたにとって、その隣人とは誰でしょうか？
祈り
神様。あなたと深い関わりを持てなかったとき、周りにいる人を深く愛することができませんでした。むしろ自分のことでさえ、深く愛することができませんでした。どうぞ憐れんでください。この弱い私に、あなたの愛を経験させてくださり、その上で、この愛を実践し、伝えていくことができるようにしてください。あなたの愛のうちにとどまらせてください。主の御名によって。アーメン。

Silence and Stillness before God (2 minutes)
Mark 5:25-34
25) And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. 26) She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27) When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28) because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29) Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.
30) At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” 31) “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” 32) But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33) Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34) He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”
Devotional
The assigned Scripture passages we are reading in our Daily Devotionals are based on the book: “Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day,” if not all. The theme for this week is to Grow into an Emotionally Mature Spirituality.
Here, the word “spirituality” means our relationship with God. So, to be spiritually mature is to deepen our personal relationship with God, that is to become more aware of God’s love. And, this leads us to grow in loving God, ourselves, and others more.
In his daily life, Jesus always spent time with his Father in contemplative prayers, which resulted in a contemplative presence with people. Jesus always had deep communion with God first, and then he deeply loved people. He was fully aware of the needs of each person he met, listened to their stories, and healed them out of compassion.
Jesus was aware of the woman who had suffered “a great deal (v.25)” from bleeding for twelve years. Not only was Jesus aware of her physical pain, but also her financial pain, losing all her possessions. In the society that believed blood is unclean, Jesus was well aware of her spiritual pain that she had been abandoned by her family and acquaintances. Jesus was aware of her dilemma and struggles when she, who was deemed as unclean, decided to come out of her house and reach out to Jesus. He was aware that the woman had to summon up all her courage to put her faith into action. That is why Jesus couldn’t help but stop and bring healing to the woman in the midst of the crowd. Jesus didn’t care about risking himself being touched by the unclean or being considered unclean himself as well.
The woman was trembling with fear (v. 33), but Jesus said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” Jesus not only had compassion on the woman and healed her, but also called her daughter in family language, and brought her salvation and peace.
When we experience God’s love through His Word, we become more loving as well. We become more aware of the needs and pain of those around us. We become more attentive and willing to listen to people’s stories and share their sufferings. We become more open to change our schedules and plans, and risk and sacrifice something important to us. We want to walk alongside people so that they can walk closer to Jesus who brings true healing.
It is because this is what the Gospel, Jesus’ death and resurrection, promises us. It is because Jesus shed his blood in our place and became unclean. It is because, just as Jesus was resurrected, we too can be transformed into a new life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the one and only way for us to love God, ourselves, and our neighbors.
Reflection
How can you “practice the presence of people” within an awareness of God’s presence today? Who do you think is such people?
Prayer
Lord, I have unhealthy ways of relating to others that are deeply imbedded in me. Please change me. Make me a vessel to spread mature, steady, and reliable love so that those I come in contact with will sense your tenderness and kindness through me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
