Dear FBC Family,
In just a few weeks, our short-term mission team will be heading out to serve with Sacred Road Ministries. We have a team of six this year: Matthew Machida, Bill Lee, Rina Guo, Doreen Chin, Jodi Eldridge, and Micah Lind.
We are incredibly excited to partner with their ongoing ministry, serving Christ by serving the Yakama community. As we prepare our hearts, we know that the most crucial preparation we can make is spiritual. We would love for you, our congregation, to join us on this journey through prayer!
Here are some specific ways you can pray for us:
- For the Hope Fellowship Staff: Please pray intentionally for the Hope Fellowship and Sacred Road staff. As they continue their ministry in the community and begin hosting the influx of spring and summer teams, pray that God grants them endurance, spiritual refreshment, and joy.
- For the Team’s Safety: We will be engaged in physical labor on the worksites, which could include roofing, painting, and yard work. Please pray for focus, strength, and physical protection from injury or exhaustion.
- For Open Hearts to Serve: Pray that we enter the community with open hearts. We want to bring joy to everyone we interact with, from the children at Kid’s Club and the local families to the permanent staff. Pray that we, too, are open to being blessed and changed by the people we meet.
- For Team Unity and Ultimate Flexibility: Our daily schedule is always subject to change, and our team covenant emphasizes that “flexibility is key.” Pray that we operate as a team, building each other up without division or complaints.
- For Spiritual Protection: Pray that our team stays grounded in God’s Word, committed to our daily quiet times, and alert to the enemy’s attempts to discourage us.
