詩篇 23篇

ダビデの賛歌。

1) 主は私の羊飼い。私は乏しいことがありません。

2) 主は私を緑の牧場に伏させ　いこいのみぎわに伴われます。

3) 主は私のたましいを生き返らせ　御名のゆえに私を義の道に導かれます。

4) たとえ 死の陰の谷を歩むとしても　私はわざわいを恐れません。

あなたがともにおられますから。

あなたのむちとあなたの杖　それが私の慰めです。

5) 私の敵をよそに あなたは私の前に食卓を整え

頭に香油を注いでくださいます。

私の杯は あふれています。

6) まことに 私のいのちの日の限り　いつくしみと恵みが私を追って来るでしょう。

私はいつまでも主の家に住まいます。

ディボーショナル

普段から神と共に歩む人は、神がどのようなお方か「本当に」知っています。そして、神がどのようなお方か「本当に」知る人は、周りの状況が異なって見えるようになります。

神がどのようなお方かを知るとは、知識として知っているのではなく、経験として知っていることです。「ほんとうに、そうだ！そのとおりだ！」と心の底から思いが沸き上がることです。

ダビデは心からの叫びを詩に綴りましたが、ダビデにとっては周りの状況が全く異なって見えたことがよく分かります。ダビデは「死の影の谷を歩む」時でも、「緑の牧場」や「いこいのみぎわ」にいるように見え、たましいの安らぎを経験しました。また、「敵」を前にしても、豊かな食事に招かれているように見え、神との深い交わりを経験しました。

ダビデの見え方が変えられたのは、彼が「主は私の羊飼い。私には乏しいことがありません。」と本当に知っていたからでした。ダビデは、このことをただの知識や綺麗事、クリスチャンとしての「模範解答」として知っていたわけではありませんでした。

ダビデは何より、神が自分のことを本当に愛してくださっていることを知っていました。耐え難い苦しみの中でも、眠れないほどのプレッシャーに苛まれる中でも、神は自分を絶対に見捨てることなく、いつもともおられるお方だと知っていました（4節）。

ダビデが心からの証言を詩にし、それが神の言葉、聖書になっています。私たちが御言葉を読むたびに教えられることは、どんな状況でも、神は私を愛しておられ、ともにいてくださっているということです。

毎日、立ち止まってディボーションをする目的は、まさにこのためです。ディボーションをするのは、仕事や家庭やミニストリーが上手くいくために、何か良いアドバイスを得るためではありません。神のルールに従うために義務感を覚えるためでもありません。それは、神に愛されていることを知り、そして、神を愛せるようになるためです。このために、私たちは毎日立ち止まって、神の言葉に心を傾けるように招かれているのです。

問いかけ

毎日、立ち止まって神の御言葉を聞くときに、どのように神様に愛を体験していますか？

ディボーションを通してさらに神の愛を体験するためには、神様は具体的に何を手放すように招かれていますか？（自分の考えや思い、願い、時間、仕事など）

祈り

父なる神様。あなたは私の牧者であり、あなたの言葉には力があることを知ってはいましたが、それを自分のこととして体験できないことがありました。時々、御言葉が、参考程度のアドバイスであったり、守らなければならない義務だと感じることもありました。どうぞ憐れんでください。あなたの御言葉が愛であることを、どうぞ私に分からせてください。アーメン。

Silence and Stillness before God (2 minutes)

Psalm 23

1) The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

2) He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,

3) he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

4) Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

5) You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

6) Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Devotional

Those who walk with God on a daily basis “really” know who God is. And those who “really” know who God is will see the world around them differently.

To know who God is not to know God as knowledge, but as experience. It is like when we say, “Yes! That’s exactly right!” It is dynamic that comes from the bottom of your heart.

David wrote this psalm pouring out his heart, and we can clearly see that the situation around him looked quite different to David. Even when David was “walking through the darkest valley,” he saw “green pastures” and “quiet waters,” and he experienced refreshes in his soul. Even in the presence of his “enemies,” he saw the invitation to a meal and experienced deep communion with God.

David’s way of seeing thing was rooted in his knowledge, and it is reflected in his confession, “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.” He really knew this, and it was not mere head knowledge, but heart knowledge. Most of all, David knows that the Lord is a God who truly loves him. Even in the midst of unbearable suffering or sleepless nights, he knows that God is the one who would never forsake him but would always be with him.

David’s heartfelt testimony and knowledge was written down into a psalm, and it has become the Word of God. What we discover whenever or whatever we read His Word is that God loves us and is always with us.

This is the very reason we need to stop and have daily devotional each day. We do this not because we want to get some good advice on how to do well at work, at home, or in ministry. Nor do we do this because we feel obligated to follow God and his rules. It is to know that God loves us and He is with us always. For this reason, we are invited to stop and give our hearts and minds to God each day.

Reflection 

How do you experience God’s love when you stop and listen to God’s Word each day?

What specifically is God inviting you to let go of in order to further experience His love through daily devotional? (thoughts, feelings, wishes, time, work, etc.)

Prayer

Father, I know that you are my Shepherd and that your Word is mighty, but sometimes I could not experience it myself. Sometimes I felt that your Word is only a helpful advice or an obligation that I have to follow. Have mercy on me. Let me truly know that your Word is love for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
